Michael D Weinberg Michael D. Weinberg is the President of The Weinberg Group, Inc. in Denver, CO. He works with individuals, families and businesses and their professional advisers to design and fund estate and business continuity plans, and to place in the life settlement market existing insurance policies that are no longer necessary or desirable. Mr. Weinberg has more than 40 years of experience and previously served as a tax attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service, New York City. He is both a former co-chair of the Insurance Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the American Bar Association and the editor emeritus of The Insurance Counselor primer series. He is certified as an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) by the National Association of Estate Planning Councils. Mr. Weinberg is a consultant to the Planned Giving Office of Stanford University.

After obtaining his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Minnesota, Mr. Weinberg received his Juris Doctorate from the Harvard Law School. He also did graduate work in taxation at the New York University School of Law. A former Adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, Mr. Weinberg maintains memberships in the Bars of the States of Colorado, Minnesota, and New York (licensed, not practicing).

Mr. Weinberg has lectured for the American Bar Association, American Law Institute, Heckerling Miami Estate Planning Institute, Notre Dame Estate Planning Institute, Practicing Law Institute, Southern California Tax & Estate Planning Forum, Texas Bar Association Advanced Estate Planning Course, Association for Advanced Life Underwriting, Forum, Million Dollar Roundtable, Society of Financial Service Professionals, Top of the Table, and numerous estate planning councils.

Mr. Weinberg has published articles as author or co-author in the Estate Planning Journal, Insights & Strategies, Journal of Asset Protection, Journal of Financial Service Professionals, Journal of Taxation, Probate & Property, and Trusts and Estates, and is the co-author with Larry Brody of The Insured Stock Purchase Agreement published by the ABA. He is also the co-developer with Steve Leimberg of "Life Settlement NumberCruncher™," a software program designed to help clients and their advisers determine the economic viability of retaining a policy or selling it in a life settlement.

Benjamin T. Weinberg, JD, MBA, MCSE

Benjamin T. Weinberg As Senior Vice President of The Weinberg Group, Inc., Benjamin Weinberg develops analytical and presentation materials for use in estate, business continuity, and wealth transfer planning. He is primarily responsible for programming The IDIOT Trust®, Split-Dollar, Switch-Dollar, and other advanced planning software developed by The Weinberg Group.

Mr. Weinberg previously served as Regional Director of Insurance and Regional Director of Financial Planning for Sagemark Consulting in Denver, affiliated with Lincoln Financial, where he managed a fee-based financial planning and advanced marketing unit for an affiliated group of forty financial planners. He developed a fee-based financial planning process, within which his unit analyzed financial spreadsheets, insurance illustrations, and presentation materials for use in retirement and wealth transfer planning.

Mr. Weinberg received a J.D. with an emphasis in taxation from the University of Colorado School of Law, where he was appointed a Rothgerber, Appel, Powers & Johnson Teaching Fellow and served as the Lexis/Nexis representative on campus. From the University of Colorado at Denver, Mr. Weinberg earned a B.A. in biology and an M.B.A. in finance and marketing, graduating first in his class.

Mr. Weinberg has been a speaker at continuing education workshops and insurance industry programs, including Lincoln Financial, M Financial, Pacific Life, and Security Life of Denver/ING. As co-presenter with The Weinberg Group’s President, Michael Weinberg, he has spoken at the AALU Annual Meeting, International Forum, Lincoln Financial, M Financial, New England Financial, Notre Dame Tax and Estate Planning Institute, Security Life of Denver/ING, and various other educational forums and marketing meetings. He also assisted Steve Leimberg and Mike Weinberg in developing "Life Settlement NumberCruncher™," a software program designed to help clients and their advisers determine the economic viability of retaining a policy or selling it in a life settlement.
